Better Than the Norm

We're not big on bragging, but the lab analysis of our pellets is impressive: wohl und warm wood pellets not only meet the prescribed quality requirements according to DINplus A1 and ENplusA1, but even exceed them in the most important quality parameters such as abrasion and residual moisture.

In addition, the raw materials (sawdust and wood chips) for our home heating come exclusively from PEFC-certified raw material suppliers.

ÖKO-Test: wohl und warm is "very good"

Our wood pellets were the only ones to receive a ‘very good’ rating from ÖKO-Test magazine. In a comparison of 14 bagged brands, wohl und warm pellets impressed with their superior quality, confirmed by an independent testing laboratory according to ENplus-A1 criteria.

In addition to excellent product quality, we score points for full transparency in terms of origin and supply chains: we only use PEFC-certified waste wood from sustainable forestry – mainly sawdust and wood chips from regional sawmills.

We also set standards in packaging: we are the only supplier in the test to use 50% recycled content in our bag films – for a better carbon footprint and a closed material cycle. The result shows that wohl und warm stands for sustainable heating solutions of the highest quality – today and in the future.

Raw Materials and Wood Origin

We have been producing energy from wood for over 20 years. We set the highest standards for our products. For us, this includes making our production and delivery processes transparent.

wohl und warm not only carefully selects its raw materials, but also takes into account their ecological footprint, which is significantly improved by short transport routes and impeccable origins from sustainable forestry.

For this reason, wohl und warm cooperates with regional, PEFC-certified sawmills and forestry operations and also ensures that material flows are kept as short as possible and that route planning is environmentally friendly.

What We Promise Our Costomers

  • Impeccable origin of the wood
We rely on PEFC-certified raw material suppliers. To protect the climate, species diversity, and biodiversity, no wood from primeval forests or endangered tree species is used for pellet production.
  • Short distances for raw material procurement
The raw materials have been transported over shorter than average distances from the forest through all further processing steps in the entire material flow chain to the finished pellets.
  • Quality testing by experienced engineers and foresters
  • Careful selection and control of raw materials and along the material flow
Our engineers, foresters and quality assurance officers regularly monitor and document material flows.

Here you will find the answers to the most frequently asked questions:

How big is a pallet?
A pallet measures approximately 1.25 m in length, 0.94 m in width, and 1.46 m in height.
Can I also order half pallets or individual bags?
No, we only deliver whole pallets. This guarantees consistent quality and efficient, uncomplicated delivery.
Are the pallets exchanged or taken back?
Our pallets are disposable and are an integral part of the delivery. They do not need to be exchanged or returned and can be reused or disposed of by you.
Where does the wood for the pellets come from?
We deliberately use regional wood from Switzerland, Germany, and France. This keeps transport routes short and the origin transparent.
Is sustainability taken into account?
Yes, our focus is on sustainable forestry and short transport routes. The regional and transparent origin of our raw materials protects the environment.
Where are the pellets stored?
Our pellets are stored at several locations in the region. This means that delivery routes are short and can be planned flexibly, and experienced transporters are also available for the mountainous region of Graubünden.
